The SX-E 3 has the same high-quality technology as the SX-E 5 but in a smaller package. Both models use the same permanent magnet electric motor, but the KTM SX-E 3 has a lower power output of 3.8 kW. 60 lithium-ion battery cells provide the driver with two hours of normal driving and recharge from empty in 70 minutes. Recharging requires no more than plugging into a 110 or 230 volt outlet.

WP XACT USD 35mm non-adjustable front fork helps handle bumps, providing 5.7-inch wheel travel. At the rear, a WP monoshock is mounted directly to the swingarm, providing 5.2 inches of travel and perfectly matching the front fork.

Another feature that makes this bike perfect for small riders is the height-adjustable saddle. Standard height is 23.6 inches, but seat height can be lowered to 21.8 inches by lowering the body/seat, installing the rear shock absorbers in an alternate position and lowering the front forks in a triple clamp. . The adjustable saddle height allows young riders to get comfortable on the bike from an early age and develop skills they would otherwise have to wait for.
