KTM has announced an update on the aesthetics of the KTM 690 Enduro R and KTM 690 SMC R for 2023.

Both bikes still feature the liquid-cooled 693cc LC4 single-cylinder engine, which KTM says has “proved to be the ideal base for the KTM 690 range”, as well as a six-speed transmission with Quickshifter+, throttle, a PASC sliding clutch and dual balance shafts.

The LC4 engines also still benefit from cornering ABS, Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) and two riding modes: Street and Offroad on the 690 Enduro R and Street and Sport on the 690 SMC R.
On the KTM 690 SMC R 2023, the Supermoto ABS option reflects this feature. When activated, ABS sensitivity is reduced at the front wheel and completely disabled at the rear, which KTM says allows “big driving into corners and tires slipping off the top.”
An optional Offroad ABS (just add a dongle) on the KTM 690 Enduro R 2023 reduces ABS interference on the front wheels and completely disables ABS at the rear, allowing the driver to lock the rear when they need to slip. behind into a sharp bend. or pull the brake down a technical slope.
The 2023 KTM 690 Enduro R features an adjustable WP XPLOR suspension with separate damping circuitry and 9.8-inch travel. Stopping power is provided by Brembo brakes with wave discs, 300mm front and 240mm rear. The 2023 KTM 690 SMC R features an adjustable WP APEX suspension with separate damping circuitry, 9.8-inch travel and Brembo brakes with 320 mm discs up front and 240 at the rear.

From an aesthetic point of view, the KTM 690 Enduro R 2023 takes styling cues from the competing Enduro lineup, and the KTM 690 SMC R brings an all-new blue and orange colorway to the chassis.
KTM says the KTM 690 Enduro R and KTM 690 SMC R 2023 models will be available at authorized KTM dealers from November onwards. Pricing is TBD.
