Cyclists repeatedly damage many cars in Brisbane

A cyclist was caught on camera locking multiple cars in broad daylight on a street in Brisbane’s inner south, and it’s not believed to be the first time he’s done it.

Mr. Brown, whose car was one of three people with the keys, said Mail courier that the incident cost him and two other owners more than $10,000 in repairs.

CCTV footage shows the man walking past parked vehicles before returning 30 seconds later holding a sharp object on a lanyard.

He again walked past parked cars with the object and tether in his hand, using it to claw at the vehicles before running away as another car approached.

Mr. Brown claimed that the perpetrator keyed the vehicle again in December after all repairs were completed, and then damaged the vehicle a third time on May 5, 2024.

Mr Brown wrote in a post on ‘Crime Qld’: “While these appeared to be targeted attacks, neither I nor the other victim knew or recognized this person… he needed to be stopped block”. Facebook group.

No charges have been filed over the incidents.
