2023 Honda Accord introduced – 11th generation D-segment sedan launched in November; new design; hybrid power

Honda has released the first official teasers of the 11th-generation Accord, which will make its official debut in November. Replacing the 10th-generation model has approx from 2017 – one facelift introduced in 2020 The upcoming Accord will boast the largest touchscreen ever fitted to Honda at 12.3 inches.

Details are scarce, but the Japanese automaker says the touchscreen will be linked to a new infotainment system that integrates Google services. We have known about this for a while, last September the company confirmed that they will use Android car operating system on its cars. Expect Google Assistant functions, Google Maps and in-vehicle apps to be available to users, just like Volvo does with its cars.

Of course, the main draw of the teasers is what the Accord will look like, and Honda has been clever enough to provide images of the front and rear of the D-segment sedan. Starting with the new look, design is consistent with what has been seen before patent imagewith a hexagonal grille (it looks like Acura-esque, don’t you think?) replacing the thick Solid Wing chrome bar and slats on the older model.

You’ll also notice the grille has a triangular-themed insert and is flanked by slim recessed headlights, the rear headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Further down, there’s a wide air intake underneath, and while the bottom edges of the bumper are shrouded in darkness, the aforementioned patent images show there won’t be fake intakes in those areas. there.

As for the rear, sports two-piece, all-wide taillights, the prevailing light bar ends at the Honda logo on the trunk lid, and just like at the front, the lower rear window is kept simple. Referencing the patent images again, the new Accord will maintain the fastback shape of its predecessor.

Inside, in addition to the large touchscreen, we can see the digital clock cluster as well as the usual volume dial. Judging by what’s displayed on the screen, Honda seems to have separated the climate control system from the infotainment system.

Other details the trailer provides include the return of the Touring variant, which could feature a hybrid powertrain. These are not new as the current Accord can be ordered with those specifications. What is unknown is if the hybrid powertrain has been improved; The current setup includes a 2.0-liter Atkinson four-cylinder engine, an E-CVT and an electric motor that produces a total system output of 212 hp and 315 Nm.

We’ll only know more when Honda unveils the next-generation Accord next month, but for now, what do you think of the overhauled styling? Is it prettier than the 10th generation model it replaces? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
