2023 Champions League: Live stream, watch online, TV schedule, channels, tee times, golf coverage, radio stations
Eight of the top 10 players (and 17 of the top 20) in the world start the new year this week at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions. Welcoming winners from a previous season and those qualifying for the Tour Championship, the Plantation Course at Kapalua will play host to the 25th time.
With major elevation changes, rolling lanes wider than some canyons, and the largest lawns on the PGA Tour, the golf course turned into a pineapple plantation will once again take center stage. Nestled high in the mountains of Maui, Hawaii, players will be forced to hold on to the accelerator because the baby bird festival is almost likely to take place.
Last season’s event saw a scoring record as wind conditions that normally protect par 73 could not be found. With a victory point falling to 34 below, Cameron Smith was able to beat the world No. 1 player at that time, Jon Rahm, with just one stroke. Neither Smith nor current world No 1 Rory McIlroy will compete this week, leaving the door open for another elite player to kick off their new year.
Scottie Scheffler could return to world number 1 with a solo third or better. Rahm seeks exact revenge from last season. Tony Finau aims to get his fourth win in his last eight starts. All of these storylines and more are likely to take place during the first PGA Tour event of 2023.
