2023 BMW R 1250 R offers a more standard set of accessories than before

BMW has tweaked the offering of the BMW R 1250 R sports roadster for the new year and it will arrive in Australia in early 2023 from $21,620 + ORC. It will also come with BMW Motorrad’s ‘Convenience Pack’ which comes standard, which includes keyless ride, chromed tops, heated grips, tire pressure monitoring and twin seats.
‘Dynamic traction control’ is also standard as is a new ‘ECO’ mode to help the driver achieve the best fuel economy, through prompts displayed on the color TFT screen along with changes to with ShiftCam operation.
The display itself continues to offer connectivity options via the BMW smartphone app that adds arrowed navigation prompts to the display. Drivers can also browse through various display and layout options, including a ‘Sport Core Display’ now offered as standard providing current and maximum tilt angles, along with intervention levels. ABS or recent traction control.
‘BMW Integral ABS Pro’ and ‘Dynamic Brake Control’ are also standard equipment on machines distributed in Australia. DBC intervenes during a hard stop to reduce the engine if the driver mistakenly also maintains any throttle opening. The ABS system’s map automatically matches the selected driving mode, of which three are part of the standard set.
The LED headlights are promised to be powerful while the adaptive turn light function, where more LED elements in the main light switch are on with their own reflectors to direct light into the turn, is available to buyers. add ‘Dynamic Pack’ option. LED indicators and daytime running lights are standard.
The $2915 ‘Dynamic Package’ adds Dynamic ESA, Shift-Assist Pro, Riding Modes Pro, Adaptive Headlights, engine spoiler and engine brake control, which BMW calls MSR Brake Control.
Buyers can also opt for the ‘Sightseeing Package’ which comes with cruise control, a center rack, pannier rack and luggage nets, seat heating and a more comfortable pillion seat, plus Nav Prep hardware for an extra $1,785.
Or you can opt for the already fitted ‘R 1250 R Sport’ in Racing Blue Metallic with the aforementioned ‘Dynamic Pack’, the basic ‘Comfort Pack’, plus silencers and sport bars, in a single seat configuration for $26,490 or more ORC. You can then add a ‘Sightseeing Package’ as described above.
Or have the ‘R 1250 R Triple Black’ which includes the standard ‘Comfort Pack’ plus the ‘Dynamic Package’ with the machine itself decked out in ‘Triple Black Style’ including ‘Tankcover Pure, dynamic spoiler’ Engine, Rear Solo and Travel Package finished in Storm Metallic black. R 1250 R Triple Black will be on sale from $25,490 + ORC.
Rear Solo removes the saddle and replaces it with a visor while the latches and handles are removed.
A passenger kit can be added to ‘R 1250 R Sport’ or ‘R 1250 R Triple Black’ with the option of ‘Travel Pack with Passenger Kit’ for $1400.
However, the options don’t stop there, here’s the BMW! The ‘Classic Wheels’ pack pictured below is part of the ‘Option 719’ category and is priced at $1,475, as is the optional ‘Sport Wheel’. There’s also a variety of ‘Ingot Package’, ‘Sport Windshield for $330,’ Anti-Theft Alarm System ‘$375 or ‘Sport Silencer’ for $1300.
You can choose the low seat option at no charge and the 820 mm seat height can be configured as low as 760 mm and as high as 840 mm.
Heated driver and passenger seats as an optional extra works also significantly increases comfort in low temperatures. Heated seats are available in combination with two individual seats and are offered exclusively in combination with heated clamps. A new, convenient operating concept has been developed for the driver’s seat with five levels of heating.
The heated handlebar setting – in combination with seat heating has five levels instead of two – is operated via a menu. The pillion seat heating system has two levels of heating and is operated by a toggle switch on the lower left side of the rear frame.
