2023 BMW M2 with M Performance Parts – stacked exhaust pipes, lots of carbon fiber, large rear spoiler
BMW offers a wide range of M Performance Parts for its models and Second generation M2 Launched last week was no exception. The German carmaker recently posted some photos of the M2 dressed up as a gift to customers – market launch will begin next April – some ideas on how to identify those their car.
Based on the photos, the M Performance Parts catalog for the M2 includes a prominent rear wing mounted on the trunk. This complements the subtle trunk lid spoiler already fitted to the standard car, which itself can be replaced with a piece of carbon fiber.
Other optional aero components visible include a roof-mounted spoiler as well as various sets of wings and trim around the wheel arches, side skirts and on the bumper edges. The rear bumper can also be fitted with carbon fiber accents on its squared indents for a bolder look. You can also order carbon fiber pieces for the front air intakes.
If that wasn’t enough, BMW also sells another quad exhaust system with pipe ends stacked in the center of the carbon fiber diffuser. This gives a more dramatic look than the stock arrangement where the tips are arranged horizontally, like what is offered on the latest version M3 and M4.
Black alloy wheels with V-spokes are also optional (20 inches front and 21 inches rear) as well as carbon mirror caps. Customers will likely specify the intricate decals seen here, including a large ‘/// M2’ on the bonnet.
In its latest form, the M2 uses the same S58 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged petrol engine as the M3 and M4, although it only makes 460 hp (453 hp) and 550 Nm of torque. . Enthusiasts will be pleased to know that a six-speed manual transmission is still available to replace the eight-speed M Steptronic automatic with Drivelogic.
