The Rivian Electric Truck can level up with the Camping Mode feature, part of the latest OTA update

Rivian on Friday officially revealed the Camp mode for the R1T and R1S electric trucks, and it includes all the features RJ CEO Scaringe revealed a week ago, plus a few more. other.

Camp mode, as Rivian detailed in one blog post, which will prepare vehicles for overnight stays in the woods by turning off the screens, activating the headlights in the rearview mirrors and automatically balancing the suspension to create a flat sleeping surface when the vehicle is parked on a hill. According to Rivian, most Camp mode settings will only work when the truck is parked and the doors closed, and when the terrain is too steep, the vehicle will prompt you to move to another location and try again.

Rivian has added a number of features to customers’ vehicles through OTA updates, including Pet Comfort Mode, Soft Sand driving mode, and Show and Tell Mode, which helps with exterior lights and the in-car display stays on indefinitely while the vehicle is parked.

But Camp Mode’s auto-leveling could be especially useful for owners who use their vehicles at Rivian’s will. While this is something offered in the aftermarket for vehicles from Land Rover and others, we are not aware of another equivalent original equipment.

Camp mode is the latest part of Rivian Online update, which includes several other key features.
