2023 Audi Q6 e-tron playing in the snow – new teaser image of the electric double Macan, built on an 800V platform

Audi has released a set of small teaser images of the upcoming Audi Q6 e-tron being tested in the frigid winter landscape of northern Europe. Audi calls it “near production,” so we think we could see a launch of some kind this year.

The Audi Q6 e-tron is built on the company’s new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which is an evolution of the J1 platform on which the Audi e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan are built. Like the J1, the PPE platform uses the 800V architecture so you can expect blazing fast charging speeds.

The Q6 e-tron will be available in both SUV and Sportback body variants, like the other electric SUVs in Audi’s stable of the Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron. This prototype looks like an SUV body.

In the same way that the e-tron GT is the Taycan’s twin, the Q6 e-tron will also get a Porsche-branded counterweight version, which is expected to be the next-generation Porsche Macan.

Audi says it will launch 20 new models by 2025 and more than 10 of them will be electric. Audi Malaysia already has confirmed e-tron GT and Q8 e-tron for Malaysia marketwith quite attractive prices because electric cars are currently tax-free.
