Italian startup Aehra on Friday unveiled its second model, an aerodynamic sedan.
Unveiled at the 2023 Milan Motor Show, this EV, simply known as the Aehra sedan, follows the Aehra SUV that was launched last November. Aehra previously said the SUV would start production in 2025, with the Sedan a year later, but now says both models will arrive in 2026.
Former Lamborghini design chief, Filippo Perini, and now Aehra design director, oversaw the design of both the SUV and the Sedan. Although no drag coefficient numbers are quoted, an Aehra press release says the sedan incorporates active aerodynamics and features a carbon fiber composite body.

Aehra also cites a 497-mile range, which can be measured during the European WLTP test cycle. That means the range could be a bit less if the Sedan arrives in North America and is EPA-rated.
Aehra claims to be developing its own platform and is working with the Austrian Miba Battery System on battery hardware to match it. The startup has previously indicated that it has a plan Emphasizes efficiency and battery repairability on all-round performance.
The Aehra Sedan will compete with electric luxury sedans such as the Lucid Air and Porsche Taycan. Both EVs emphasize performance, but match significantly different levels of efficiency. The clean air managed to get up to 516 miles on a single 112-kwh battery charge. However Porsche learned that it needs to extend the range of the battery pack in the Taycan.

And the focus on aero isn’t just exclusive to high-end brands. Volkswagen has followed such a design philosophy for Its upcoming ID.7claims to have achieved a drag coefficient of just 0.23.
Aehra plans to roll out production to “key markets” by 2026, including North America, Europe, China and the Gulf states. But as Lucid and other EV startups have shown, getting cars into the hands of customers can be a huge step forward for a new company. So we’ll have to wait and see how things play out.
