The Rolex 24 at Daytona is over and beautiful pictures will appear. We’ve put together a bunch of images for you to mull over and see the best of the race.
In case you missed it, Acura won the race overallfinish both first and second and beat the high competition Cadillac. The pink and white Meyer Shank Racing car you see in the photo is the winning car. Meanwhile, Konica Minolta is blue and black Acura second.
As beautiful as these photos are, but the environment in which drivers are forced to compete is far from that. The extreme cold in Florida makes it difficult to get heat out of the tires, leading to turns, crashes, and many races under the yellow flag.
As a 24-hour race, you have lots of different lighting situations throughout, which means photographers can unleash their creativity. Some nighttime shots are particularly eye-catching with the long exposures, but sunrise is easily the best time to witness during the race, as the sun rises over the ocean east of the track .
