20-30 cm of snow expected in Rocky Mountains by Monday
Atmosphere Canada meteorologists anticipate heavy snow to fall in southwestern Alberta over the weekend.
The company issued snowfall warnings for the Rocky Mountains on Saturday afternoon, noting that Banff and Jasper nationwide parks will see between 20 and 30 centimetres of snow by Monday.
Areas affected by the warning embody Freeway 93, Lake Louise and the Saskatchewan River Crossing.
“Be ready to regulate your driving with altering highway situations. Quickly accumulating snow might make journey troublesome over some places,” Atmosphere Canada mentioned, recommending that drivers carry an emergency package with water, meals, medication, a first-aid package and a flashlight.
“If visibility is lowered whereas driving, decelerate, look ahead to taillights forward and be ready to cease.”
