When Honda’s motobike introduced the Acura brand to North America for the 1986 modelThere are only two models that we can buy here: luxury sedan legend (developed Cooperate with Rover and siblings with British pound 825) and Integration based on Civic. Most of the Integrated devices we’ve seen on the street over the past few decades are third-generation models sold from model years 1994 to 2001 and – just like their Civic counterparts – many of them put together well enough to produce impressive mileage totals. This is a ’95 Integra SE coupe that has hit the 350,000-mile mark during 27 years on the road, found in a Northern California self-service yard a few weeks ago.
In 1995SE trim level near the top the United States Integration hierarchy (just below the soon-to-be-popular GS-R), priced at $19,890 for the three-door Sport Coupe with five-speed manual transmission. That’s about $35,895 in 2022 dollars. This, Emperor Akihito’s daily driver is a Honda Integra ’91 . sedanso that’s a lot of credit for the price (yes, yes, the Emperor of Japan sitting in the back of a Toyota to do official dutiesbut we can never buy a new Toyota Century here).
With the Special Edition you get all the luxury features of the midsize LS (including a power sunroof, air conditioning, cruise control and anti-lock brakes). brake) plus 15″ alloy wheels, fat Michelin tires, a large spoiler and a six-speaker AM/FM/cassette sound system.
The GS-R’s 1.8-liter VTEC engine made 170 hp in 1995 (with swapped the ’96 GS-R engine into a ’92 Civic hatchback, I can tell you it’s a pretty wild engine by mid-1990s standards), but the non-VTEC version that was included in the Integrated saner is rated at just 142 horses. The Civic Si that year had just 125 horsepower and was far less luxurious than its wealthier Integra sibling, but it also cost just $13,450 (about $25,160 today).
These cars are very well built and will last decade after decade if not abused, and this car benefits from owners who have taken good care of it. Unfortunately, the craze for hot-bar Hondas really broke out in the mid-1990s, and many of these cars had bad outcomes in regards to accidents and/or dynamics. engine explodes. Not many years ago, a vehicle like this would have been stripped by landfill vultures within hours of landing in a self-service car graveyard in California. All mechanical tools on the Integra will stick with a similar generation civicso the demand for Integral parts used to be very high.
Someone pulled the transmission link, gear lever and gear lever from this Integrated, but forgot the engine. Non-VTEC Honda B18 engines are very expensive these days, so why stand a chance on a junk with extremely high mileage? I don’t know if I had the guts to buy a 342,768 mile transmission, but Honda has always been known for good manual transmissions.

I can’t find out which company makes these, but I’m sure the Tokyo Drift soundtrack played at full volume, over and over while they were being designed. I personally like to listen Japanese dubbing while driving my custom Toyota, but the car goes slow and slow rather than fast and/or angry; I suppose Japanese Doo-wop may be more appropriate, in any case.
The interior is tattered and the body shows signs of hard times, so perhaps this car has had a rough last few years on average California streets. Did a blown head pad finally end its career? We will never know. Maybe the last owner of this ’95 just bought it a model ’22.
