A two-month investigation led to an enormous seizure of contraband tobacco merchandise in central Alberta in August.
In a information launch Tuesday morning RCMP mentioned the Crimson Deer GIS drug crew searched three properties in Crimson Deer, Lacombe County and Morningside, Alta., on Aug. 27, 2021 and “seized 1.35 million unlawful cigarettes, roughly $14,000 money, a stolen Dodge Challenger and contraband hashish merchandise.”
Based on RCMP, the retail worth of the seized cigarettes was greater than $1 million.

Police mentioned their investigation revealed “a wholesale provider of contraband tobacco merchandise was working out of Crimson Deer,” and being distributed to a lot of places round Alberta.

Chrys Tremblay, 43, of Crimson Deer has been charged with:

- two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000;
- promoting unstamped tobacco merchandise beneath the Exise Act;
