Under a hand ride, Tap the Faith was all out through the stretch to prevail in a final time of 1:38.35 on a fast track.

Tap the Faith, who was purchased by Claiborne Farm as agent from the Bluewater Sales consignment to the Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $1.25 million, had posted a bullet four-furlong work Oct. 31, getting the distance in :48.83 to be the fastest of five at the distance that day.

Bred by China Horse Membership Worldwide, Faucet the Religion is the primary foal to race out of the Super Saver   mare Embellish the Lace, winner of the 2015 Alabama Stakes (G1). Her extended female family includes multiple graded stakes winners Eye of the Tiger, Materiality, and My Miss Sophia, among others.

Woodbine

Two juveniles of note trained by Mark Casse earned their first wins at
Woodbine this week.

Spruce Steady’s Mrs. Barbara  broke through the maiden ranks Nov. 8 at the Toronto oval, taking a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight race for 2-year-old fillies on the all-weather track by 1 3/4 lengths.

The Bodemeister   filly had finished third in the Aug. 21 Catch A Glimpse Stakes and then returned Sept. 19 to finish fourth in the Natalma Stakes (G1T). In Sunday’s race she was ridden Rafael Hernandez in mid pack through most of the race, moved into third on the turn, and rallied quickly in the stretch to overtake the leaders. The final time for the distance was 1:44.19.

Bred by Jim Dandy Stable, Mrs. Barbara is out of the Housebuster mare Destroy, who also produced grade 2 winner Smokey Fire.

Earlier in the week, D.J. Stable’s Stowaway  won his third start. The Gun Runner   colt led all the way to take a 1 1/16-mile maiden race for 2-year-olds.

Ridden by Emma-Jayne Wilson, he went to the lead and remained there, posting fractions of :24.44, :49.39, 1:13.86 through six furlongs. He finished the distance in 1:45.05 on the all-weather track.

In his first two starts, the Casse trainee finished fifth Aug. 15 and second Sept. 5 at Woodbine.

Bred by Three Chimneys Farm, Stowaway is out of the Bernardini   mare Secret Jewel, a half sister to grade 1 winner and millionaire Shared Account who is in turn the dam of grade 1 winner Sharing. Secret Jewel is also the dam of this year’s Beaumont Stakes Presented by Keeneland Select (G3) winner Twenty Carat .

Remington Park

Another Gun Runner offspring, Three Chimneys Farm homebred
Carioquinha , broke her maiden Nov. 4 at Remington Park in a one-mile off-the-turf check for 2-year-old fillies. Carioquinha received her second begin for coach Steve Asmussen after ending second to final in her Sept. 12 debut at Kentucky Downs.

Ridden by Stewart Elliott, Carioquinha raced in midpack by the primary half-mile earlier than selecting off horses whereas three large and placing in a robust rally to tug away to a three-length victory in a ultimate time of 1:41.73 on a muddy monitor.

Carioquinha is out of the twin grade 1-winning Pure Prize mare Pure Clan, who solely completed off the board in certainly one of 16 begins throughout her racing profession and later produced grade 1-placed Princesa Carolina.
