This looks wild small truck to be Zeekr 009. It’s brand new from Chinese brand Zeekr (owned by Geely), and they are trying to bring top luxury to the small van market.
By now, we know Zeekr focuses on Europe and North America market as places to expand further Chinabut if we had to guess, this 009 is one of those that will never see the light of day in the United States.
Zeekr 009 is an electric-only truck with a whopping 140 kWh the battery package that Zeekr claims is good for a range of about 511 miles – this big truck only has a drag coefficient of 0.27. There’s a smaller battery with a capacity of 116 kWh, and charging this smaller pack from 10% to 80% is said to take just 28 minutes on a fast charger. The powertrain includes two electric motors, and the Zeekr claims a 0-62 mph time of just 4.5 seconds. For a pickup truck!
Its suspension has a double wishbone design at the front and multi-link at the rear. A “High Performance Air Suspension package” is available. With air suspension, the 009 can also be lowered for easy entry and exit.
Of course, the real luxury in this truck comes inside, where you’ll notice first-class airline seats in the second row. Yes, Zeekr installs massive, elaborate barrels in the second row, characteristic of every luxury imaginable. It has extra-long legroom, “spa-grade” massages, endless chair adjustments, and even a flip table. Every inch is interior space and material covered by eye-catching design and technological comforts, such as 15.6-inch rear flip-down screens and Yamaha’s 20-speaker sound system. This is truly a breathtaking space to sit in. This is a van, with an extra third row of seats for additional passengers, allowing for a seating capacity of six.
For now, Zeekr 009 will remain in China. The price for the large battery version is 588,000 yen in China, or $80,660. Buy the smaller van and that price drops to $68,450.
