A man has been charged with the murder of Zara Aleena in Ilford, east London.
Jordan McSweeney, 29, was also charged with attempted rape and robbery, the Metropolitan Police said.
He will be detained at Thames Magistrates Court later today.
Ms Aleena, 35, was found with “serious head injuries” in Cranbrook Road around 2:45am on Sunday, and died later that morning in hospital.
On Tuesday, Lisa, Miss Aleena’s best friend said she was shocked and angry when she passed away and revealed the last messages she received from her.
Lisa sent her a screenshot of the sunset to which Aleena replied “beautiful”, adding: “Miss your pretty face this weekend xx can’t wait to see you on next weekend xxx.”
The pair have been best friends for 17 years and “spend most of the weekend together”, Lisa said, describing herself as “completely broken”.
“I’m shocked, I’m angry, my stomach hurts,” she posted.
“We were supposed to be together this weekend but I had to cancel and make an appointment to meet next weekend.”
