YouTube Music Experiment New filter option for Next in Radio Playlist: Report
YouTube Music has reportedly started testing new filters for Up Next songs in the radio queue in the mobile app. Since this new feature is currently in beta, it’s only visible to a limited number of users. New filters appear to appear on radio-generated playlists and allow users to choose what to play next. YouTube Music already allows users to create playlists based on individual songs. It also allows you to listen to the list of songs available on a particular radio station.
The new filters for the ‘Next’ queue are report on Reddit by a user named “hanubeki”, as spot by 9to5Google. Filters are reported to appear when the user is actively playing from a radio-generated list of songs on the app. Users will find these filters, which they can tap to customize what plays next. These filters provide recommendations to users and show what’s more familiar to them with new options “All”, “Family”, “Recommended” and “Instruments” on the audio app music, according to the report.
Users on Redditwho reported this feature for the first time, suggests that the filters in Music on YouTube Application varies by song and appears only for song queues set by radio stations.
As mentioned, this update to the YouTube Music app is currently in beta and seems to be limited to a handful of users. Gadgets 360 was unable to independently verify the availability of the filters reported at the time of submission of this article.
Google has been actively trying to enhance the user experience by adding new features to the YouTube Music app through updates over the past few months. In January of this year, YouTube Music starts display User personalized ‘Recommended Stations’ tab in mobile app with 10 radio stations with cover art in radio waveform in background along with artist or album art and logo YouTube Music.
Furthermore, the YouTube Music app also improve radio algorithm to show more artists and added features like Family OS and Wear OS Shuffle, in April
