Netflix recently announced a ban on password sharing features after the video streaming giant lost nearly 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2022. The app is even reportedly testing with $2.99 surcharge for subscribers who share their account password with other family members. . So, if you are a Netflix subscriber in the UK, you must stop sharing your login information with others, or your account may be banned. But that’s not the only reason. There are a few more things that can cause Netflix to ban your account. Here are the things you have to stop doing right now to keep binge-watching shows on Netflix.
Do not share passwords outside of your household
Password sharing has been banned on Netflix after it reported a massive drop in subscribers for the first time in ten years. If you do, your account may not be banned outright, but the company may add an additional fee for second account profiling. This feature has been tested in several countries. But if you continue to do so, it will technically be grounds for banning your account if Netflix users want to.
Stop Using VPN Now
People have been using a VPN on Netflix for years because it allows users to watch other shows by tricking the site into believing you’re in another country. However, Netflix allows users to access TV shows and movies that are only available in your country.
Netflix’s terms state, “You may access Netflix content primarily within the country in which you have set up your account, and only in the geographic locations where we provide our services. and has licensed the content.” Therefore, using a VPN is a violation of the terms and would technically be grounds for banning you if they wanted to.
Do not make your own copy
Netflix does not allow users to create their own copy. Under Netflix’s terms “may not host, reproduce, distribute, modify, display, perform, publish, license, create derivative works from, offer for sale” anything on communication. “We may terminate or restrict your use of our service if you violate these Terms of Use or engage in illegal or fraudulent use of the service.”
