Bjak road tax – optional extension, now free; The main service provides motorbike insurance renewal
After one statement from the Ministry of Road Transport (JPJ) Yesterday, online insurance aggregator Bjak responded with a statement clarifying that road tax renewal is an optional service for its customers and that the service is operating normally.
Bjak’s road tax renewal service is now available free of charge to customers as part of an initiative to make insurance renewal more convenient and cost-effective for customers. Bjak claims that its main service is to compare and provide motor vehicle insurance renewals as well as VIP services to its customers.
Bjak claimed that while other companies typically charge between RM3 and RM11 for renewal services, it said it offered the optional service for free to all its customers, adding that they had previously absorbed all fees for official JPJ suppliers.
The company stated that the road tax exemption campaign is part of a private sector initiative to add value to customers and is not linked to any government mandate, adding that the company remains committed to providing innovative solutions and services while maintaining the highest compliance standards.
Bjak also said it aims for same-day resolution for all inquiries and feedback received from customers, and acknowledged the issues raised by JPJ, adding that it is working with suite to improve the experience for all vehicle owners in Malaysia.
Yesterday, JPJ announced that it had not authorized Bjak to undertake road tax renewal transactions, refuting the company’s claim that it had been audited and approved by JPJ, and noting that the department had received received complaints from the public about road tax renewal deals. made through the Bjak website are not yet reflected in the validity period of the road tax as well as additional charges.
