I mentioned the feeling that comes with car realization before. One of the biggest realizations is the fact that the Pontiac Aztek not as bad as it was made when they were new. In fact, if brought to market today, the Aztek would probably be quite successful thanks to its crossover practicality, which has led some people to look for older Azteks and buy or flip them. That also means there are some examples with silly prices, as one recent report suggests Facebook Market find program.
First spotted in a tweet (h/t to @Lriga_), there’s a rather interesting 2002 Aztek for sale. The Stillwater, Minnesota four-wheel-drive Aztek was transformed into a more off-road vehicle, with the previous owner adding a lift kit and full-sized all-terrain tires. Its bright red paint and red and gray interior help it stand out, and its 89,000 miles aren’t bad for a car that’s more than 20 years old.
It also appears to be in pretty good condition. The seller mentions that it has a clean Carfax history, runs well and is street legal – not sure why it wouldn’t be – and it has new headlights and brakes. Unfortunately, this uniqueness comes with an “I know what I got” price. If you want to own this “unique” Aztek, you will have to spend 13,000 USD. That’s probably a whopping $8,000 considering what other Azteks have done.
Although the Aztek is listed on Facebook Marketplace by a private seller, photos of it appear to be a listing from a North East, Pennsylvania dealer named NFI Empire. A quick inventory search shows they have five Pontiacs in stock and none of them are this Aztek, so either someone actually paid that much for this one and the Facebook ad hasn’t been taken down yet or Facebook Marketplace seller is the seller who bought it from the dealer and he is trying to flip it. Regardless, this thing isn’t unique or cool enough to cost more than $10,000.
