Young Thug files fourth petition to be issued on bonds

He claims the rapper relies on “unhealthy” foods, like chocolate and chips.

In addition, he said that the rapper has had little access to fresh air and sunlight since May 2022. The only exception is when he is taken to and from the courthouse. Exercise is also limited due to his small cell.

Steel went on to claim that the rapper constantly suffered from “sleeplessness” due to only getting five hours of sleep a night and that when he appeared in court, he had to wake up at 3 or 4 a.m., the newspaper reported.

The conditions prevented Thugger from paying attention to his case properly

His attorney added that the conditions made it impossible for Thugger to pay attention and keep up with his case.

“By the end of the week, Mr. Williams will struggle to pay attention to developments in his case,” Steel said in the petition.

Ultimately, Steel asked the court to review the bond issue to Williams and “conditions may be in place to permit the establishment of the bond,” according to 11Alive.

Thugger, legal name Jeffery Williams, has remained in custody since his arrest and is charged with leading the “Young Slime Life” gang. The alleged gang is said to have links to the Bloods.

Thug is facing charges of gang activity since 2018 along with an allegation of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO Act) in 2013.

Thug has maintained her innocence throughout the trial, plagued by a number of problems since its inception. That includes the arrest of attorney Anastassios Manettas, who represents another defendant in the case.

Jury selection in the YSL RICO trial is now entering its fifth month of proceedings.

Meanwhile, next month will mark a year since prosecutors launched the original indictment claiming YSL committed nearly 200 offenses as a street gang.

The YSL RICO trial is on track to break the record as the longest criminal trial in Fulton County history, 11Alive reported.
