Whenever the name of Errol Spence Jr. mentioned in the chats, Yordenis Ugas couldn’t help but smile. The Cuban-born 147-pounder has always considered the unified champion as one of the best boxers in the world. With the 35-year-old anxious to unify the titles, Ugas was furious when he was initially told he could not pursue a confrontation with the mighty nampaw and would instead be forced to face the mighty nampaw. head with rising candidate Eimantas Stanionis.

However, with the 27-year-old agreeing to step aside so their three-belt unification could take place, Ugas had a permanent smile on his face. The two will officially end on April 16, at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Now, with Ugas circling the date on his calendar, he’s looking forward to sharing the ring with one of his fellow champions.

“It’s going to be a great fight, a tough fight against Spence,” Ugas told Fight Hub TV. “I’m just working hard to achieve that goal.”

Since stepping away from the pugilistic sport in 2014, Ugas has returned with renewed energy, winning 12 of his previous 13 competitions. During his most recent ring appearance, Ugas was briefly in the spotlight, replacing Spence Jr., ironically, to take on Manny Pacquiao.

Though researchers place the odds on future First Election Chambers as the favorite title, Ugas ignored the fuss and went on to claim the most impressive win of his career. Currently, despite having a golden waist, Ugas once again sees himself as an underdog.

Admittedly, Ugas has repeatedly watched Spence Jr. and personal. And while he admits that the Dallas native has impressed in his one-sided wins over Danny Garcia, Mikey Garcia and Lamont Peterson, Ugas believes those who put the odds in the end will be wrong. In fact, come to the night match, if observers are interested in fattening their wallets, Ugas advises them to drop a few bucks on him for the win.

“I am 200% one of the best fighters in the division. I’m a competitor, I’m a fighter. I’ve proven night after night that I can fight the best. You should put your money on me because I come night after night. ”
