YFN Lucci is not a witness in Young Thug’s YSL case, lawyer says

YFN Lucci won’t stand up against young thugs, according to his attorney. In a statement to TMZ, Drawing Search said prosecutors did not name Lucci – the government’s name is Rayshawn Bennett – as a witness.

Thug recently won a legal victory after a judge issued a restraining order to block evidence during a hearing two weeks ago. This is his first court appearance in months over a RICO Act lawsuit involving Young Slime Life (YSL). His team went to court to secure the return of Thugger’s estate.

Police seized a mobile phone, computer and a ‘small amount’ of cannabis from Thug’s home in 2015. His legal team argued that the search was ‘illegal’. They requested that the recovered evidence should not be used in the trial. Judge Ural Glanville agreed.

As for Lucci — the Atlanta rappers have ramped up their online activity over the years. Back in February, someone stabbed Lucci in the Fulton County Jail, and he later allegedly learned that there was a price to be paid for his head. After the incident, his legal team asked the judge for bail but was denied.

Lucci is in prison awaiting trial for a fraud involving alleged gang activity and murder. He has been locked up since 2021.

In May, prosecutors claimed that two YSL associates worked to get Thug’s permission to make a second attempt at Lucci’s life. Lucci’s team filed an emergency bond hearing in response to the mention in Thug’s indictment. Nothing seems to materialize from either filings from his attorney.

Lawyer Lucci Says Rapper ‘Will Not Be A Witness In YSL Case’

However, his attorney Findling confirmed on Thursday that Lucci “never been interviewed or subpoenaed” by law enforcement, the Fulton County District Attorney’s office or any other party involved in the YSL case, according to TMZ.

He added that Findling had said “any party can publish” whoever it wants as a witness, but “Words alone are meaningless.”

“So to be 100% clear, Rayshawn Bennett (Lucci) will not be a witness in the YSL case,” Findling said.

Apparently, Lucci’s sole focus at the moment is “his pending Fulton County case.”

Young Thug’s trial is expected to begin with jury selection on January 5. Fox5 Atlanta.
