Woman trying to raise baby panda found alone on construction site
When a construction company arrives in the neighborhood to build a home, local wildlife must disperse to find new homes. Sadly, a newborn panda was left behind by her family. A good Samaritan found the kit and took her to a panda rescue group. They named the baby Lucy.
Jaime, an active participant in the panda rescue community, received a call about Lucy. Jaime agrees to take her in. Lucy is only about the size of a small hamster, which worries Jaime. She still can’t see and needs to be bottle-fed every few hours.
Newborn Lucy also had difficulty breathing and had to be placed in a special box with a nebulizer. Although she hated having to go to the box for respiratory treatment, Lucy eventually turned to Jaime and looked at her this could only mean one thing to her new mother: Lucy wanted to live.
The ministry continued to fight. Lucy won’t be able to return to the wild, but Jaime vows to take care of her and give her the life she deserves. Set climbs trees and hangs out with her panda brother, Louie. We are so glad Lucy was found before it was too late.
