Witch Cupcakes for Halloween – A Beautiful Mess
Creating Halloween-themed treats is one of my biggest joys this time of year. Today, I’m teaching you how to make witch hat cupcakes.
They are so fun and adorable! I also found a kit at Walmart for making mummy cakes and I had to try those too.
We have partnered with Walmart for this post. Of them Great value brand there are tons of options that can save you money but still create fun projects like this one! The other great thing is that you can order everything online for in-store pickup.
It saves a lot of time and can be useful when you have young children in the car to make sure that you actually come home with everything on your list!
If this is your first time using Walmart pickup, use code TRIP 10 to save $10 on your first three pick up or delivery orders. (Minimum $50. Restrictions and fees apply.)
It must be the season of witches! Let’s jump in and make witch hat cupcakes.
Element:
Direction:
Bake your cupcakes according to the package ingredients. Mix cream cheese frosting with green food dye and refrigerate.
For the witch hat, melt a packet of coated candy. I use a clean/unused brush to brush the chocolate onto the cone. After the cones are covered with chocolate, pour the remaining chocolate onto the parchment in small circles.
You want the chocolate circles to be larger than the open cone, but only by a little. The perfect size is about an inch more than the conical opening.
Press the chocolate covered cones into the chocolate circles and let them dry completely. The perfect witch hats!
Tips for Implementation:
- I used two different types of blue tape and I’m happy to have options.
- Dark chocolate is bold enough for witch hats. No need to add black food coloring.
- Black licorice twizzlers make for the perfect witch haircut. I cut them into two-inch pieces.
