Wind farms in Germany are being dismantled to expand coal mines – Is it up thanks to that?

A wind farm in Germany is being dismantled to expand the Garzweiler lignite mine. One of the eight turbines installed at the site in 2001 was dismantled. However, the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia has said it will phase out coal by 2030, as has RWE, which owns the mine.
Wind turbines near the Garzweiler open-pit mine in North Rhine-Westphalia, run by German energy giant RWE, are being demolished to make way for lignite mining.
The turbines have been running since 2001 and government subsidies have expired. Energiekontor and wpd, also active in the Balkans, wind farm operation.
