The Ravens won’t have Lamar Jackson on Sunday.
Jackson was injured in Week 14 and had to leave the field, but avoided the worst-case scenario in the ensuing prognosis. Jackson will miss all of the practice leading up to the Packers game, although there’s a chance he could play.
It’s not a must-win situation for the Ravens, but the 8-5 record means time is running out for Baltimore to secure a playoff spot. Baltimore has been ravaged by injury in 2021, with Jackson being the latest to miss a game through injury.

Why didn’t Lamar Jackson play with the Packers?
Jackson does not compete on Sunday as he recovers from an ankle injury.
The Ravens quarterback picked up an injury during the Ravens-Browns game in Week 14 and he was taken off the field. Initially, reports indicated – and the head coach confirmed – that Jackson was diagnosed with a low ankle sprain.
On Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Jackson was indeed facing a bone bruise, not an ankle sprain.
Jackson hasn’t practiced all week, but on Friday, Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh said it was likely Jackson would be able to compete on Sunday.
He was officially dropped just hours to start the game against the Packers in Baltimore. In his place, Tyler Huntley will start, second of his year.
Jackson has not missed a game due to injury in his career before 2021, although Sunday’s game marks the second game he will miss in 2021. Early in the season, he missed a match due to an undisclosed illness. He missed a game in 2020 after contracting COVID-19.
Huntley is on his second game of the 2021 season. Backing him up is Josh Johnson, who was recently signed with the Jets training team.
Jackson had a rough season with Raven: Over 12 games, he threw 16 touchdowns to 13 interceptions from 2,882 yards. He also has 767 yards of charge with two touchdowns.
