While commissioner Roger Goodell recently said, “I believe clubs have the right to remove owners from the league,” as it turns out, NFL owners can force fellow owners out if there are three one-quarter vote among the owners of a move.
If the tank allegations are proven true, #Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross will face severe discipline, up to and including Ross losing to the team by a vote of the owners, sources said.

Ross has been so steadfast in his defense that he has never paid Flores for any loss in the 2019 season. The Dolphins finished the season with a 5-11 record and picked midfielder Tua Tagovailoa with the turn. pick number 5 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
“Regarding Brian Flores’ allegations, I am a man of honor and integrity and cannot let them stand unresponsive,” Ross said in a statement. “I take very seriously individual exceptions to these malicious attacks and the truth must be known. His allegations are untrue, malicious and defamatory.
“We understand there have been media reports stating that the NFL intends to investigate his claims and we will cooperate fully. I welcome that investigation and I look forward to protecting the integrity of his claims. individual as well as the integrity and values of the entire Miami Dolphins organization, from baseless, unfair and disparaging claims.”
Flores’ lawsuit alleges racism in the NFL as well as alleged bribery by Dolphins owners to pay for the loss. Flores was fired on January 10, in a surprising move, after the 9-8 season.
The former Dolphins head coach was a finalist for the position of Texas coach, but the job ended up going to Houston defensive coordinator Lovie Smith.
