Who makes the best 135mm lens?
Wide-aperture 85mm lenses are a classic choice for portraiture, but of course, they’re not the only focal length you can use. The 135mm lens has long been a popular alternative, and a number of companies have made impressive choices. This great video review compares the Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM, Samyang AF 135mm f/1.8 FE and Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art lenses.
Coming to you from Julia TrottiThis excellent video review compares Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM, Samyang AF 135mm f/1.8 FEand Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Glass. I’ve always loved the 135mm lens; The classic Canon EF 135mm f/2L was my first premium lens, and I loved it so much that when I made the mistake of selling it, I almost immediately bought another copy shortly after. The 135mm lens requires a bit more working distance, so if you’re working in a studio, make sure you have enough room to use it. However, if your space is large enough or you work outside, they can be a great option, and as you can see in the video, there are some impressive options to choose from. Check out the video above for Trotti’s full thoughts on the lens.
