Ravi Shastri, the former head coach of the Indian cricket team, is known for his pompous personality. Always the one to speak his mind, Shastri has been a colorful figure in Indian cricket for many years now. Along with that, Shastri is known for making bold predictions during his time with Team India. Under his leadership, the team reached the pinnacle of Test cricket, which included winning two Test series in Australia. Now, it has emerged that Shastri can also give unique talks.
Former Indian track and field athlete Parthiv Patel recently revealed how Shastri got him to play well in the 2017-18 South Africa Tour. In the third and final test, Patel beat in 6th place in the first innings. In the second half, India needed the opener and Patel was promoted. Shastri had come up with a nice quote to comfort Patel.

Shastri, a member of the Sky Sports Cricket team in Edgbaston, said: “I think (it is) disappointing, because they could have knocked England out of this competition.
“They needed to hit two innings and I think they were defensive, they were pretty timid today, especially after lunch. Even after losing those snaps, they could still win some chances. Running was so important at that stage of the game and I think they just ran into a shell, lost those traps too quickly, and gave enough time for England to beat today.”
