Its Balatro. Balatro is the best roguelike game of the moment and easily one of the best releases of 2024. We have a deck builder that uses traditional decks and poker Score high enough to overcome challenges using twisted Jokers, tarot cards, and other elements to give us an advantage in every run. Plus, it’s very fast and has a ton of decks and difficulty modifiers that vary each time. I love it. — Jenni
I recently picked it up robot mission and I had a blast. It plays in the same way as Doom 2016 with a little more dirt Border area style, but a lot of the guns and abilities feel like they’re really impactful and different. It makes a welcome change from the usual “+3% damage to downed enemies if you are in mid-air and Capricorn is in Retrograde”. — Elliot
It’s not a recent game and it’s not as roguelike as the first game, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Fear and hunger 2 recently. I loved the setting and lore, and the plethora of fun characters made this show even more enjoyable for me. Even after completing a few runs, I still didn’t get bored just because there are so many different ways you can play it, between the items you get and the characters you can take with you ( if you choose to host a party). instead of just going alone). — Stephanie
