What kind of wood did you buy for this Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen?

A Vietnamese YouTuber with too much time on his hands built a life-size replica of the icon Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen – out of wood.

ND-The art of woodworking is no stranger to creating some truly incredible pieces of automotive art made from wood, although this is perhaps the most realistic yet.

What started life in the early 1990s Mitsubishi Pajero was transformed into a bare chassis, with pieces of wood shaped to look like a G-Wagen slowly glued to the base.

We won’t reveal what happens throughout the video because it’s worth taking the time to appreciate the 180 days of work that went into creating this tribute to one of the world’s most recognizable 4x4s.

It is unclear how much this wooden Wagen weighs.

At the end of the video, you can see it slowly running around town. Despite the V8 Biturbo badge, there’s a Mitsubishi mill at work under the bonnet – not that you’d want to go that fast given the complete lack of safety features.

According to the master craftsman, the entire project cost around $100,000 (A$151,300), or less than half the price of a Mercedes-AMG G 63 in Australia, although at least in the latter version you will have a twin-turbo V8 engine. engine and there is no risk of debris on impact.
