What is the best prime lens for travel photography?

Travel photography is a major craft genre and one that most photographers try at some point. However, with such a wide range and the many other categories it covers, it can be difficult to keep your tool bag light. So, what is the best prime lens?

Of course, there are no exact answers, only opinions. Zoom lenses are especially popular as a walkaround, do-it-all option, but if you prefer primes or you need faster glasses, prime lenses may be your only option. Then you have the difficult task of figuring out which focal length best suits your needs.

Fifty-five has always been a favorite target of photographers of all kinds, but for some (myself included) it’s only half the measure. What many travel photographers opt for instead is a wider focal length and in this video, TKNORTH discusses his new hobby, Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art. That’s exceptionally wide and fast, giving it flexibility, with wider shots on the menu, but also close-up shots of subjects with a narrow depth of field and well-separated subjects from the background.

I’ve used the 24mm f/1.4 lens before, and while I didn’t expect to like it as I gravitated toward further primes, I have to admit it has no shortage of creative applications. For me, the success of a wide focal length is its widest aperture Therefore wide; if it was f/2.8, i would completely disagree with the feeling of this video.
