Waterspout: Cyclone-like funnels form off the coast of the Sicilian city of Licata
Residents of the Italian city of Licata shared footage of multiple water columns forming off the coast on Tuesday.
The south of Sicily is experiencing severe weather, including torrential rain and fierce winds.
Officials say multiple ‘whirlwinds’ have touched down across the area. A man is known to have died.
A water column is defined as a wind column filled with rotating clouds that forms over water. They can make their way inland, where they are then known as a tornado.
