WATCH: Shane Lowry makes a great hole-in-one on the famous 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass
Shane Lowry just hit the 10th hole in history on the famous par-3 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass during the third round of the 2022 Players’ Championship on Sunday. The ace allowed him to make a beautiful jump on the leaderboard as he looked to jump into contention to enter the final round.
The peg for Round 3 is in front of the green, where we’ve seen Aces fall over the years and it only plays 123 yards. As the footage is good (and it’s amazing), the response from Lowry – who always delivers great reactions – is even better.
Lowry’s 1 is just his fourth goal since 2002 on the 17th and the first since Ryan Moore made it to open the game in 2019. It pushed Lowry close to the lead as he went from 2 under. up 4 under with a single club swing. Here is an overview of all the highlights in the history of one of the most famous holes in golf.
