Watch Road Zipper move concrete barriers as if they were weightless
The mechanical wonder you see above is called the Road Zipper. Infrastructure Lindsay developed the incredible construction vehicle in 1984 as a quicker way to set up and adjust road barriers. This conveyor system lifts, rather than pulls, heavy “T-top” rails and gently moves them into place. The slats are then pinned together to create a wall. The Road Zipper has a maximum operating speed of 10 mph and is designed to operate on active roads so that on-road jobs can be carried out without congestion or traffic jams.
