In a few days, Harley-Davidson (HD) will introduce 2023 Harley-Davidson X440, its brand new small displacement motorcycle for the Indian market. The X440 is produced in collaboration with Indian motorcycle manufacturer Hero Motocorp and is designed with the needs of Indian riders in mind.
After a series of teaser images, now the latest allows us to hear notes about the X440’s exhaust. The pounding sound is indicative of a single cylinder. This is something that has been confirmed in the previous teaser photos.
While the actual capacity of the X440 is yet to be revealed, the Indian media speculates that the engine will be over 400 cc. With an oil-cooled and EFI system, it is rumored that the X440 will produce around 38 hp and 30 Nm of torque, figures not far behind competitors in the market like the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and Bajaj Dominar 400.
From the leaked images, we know the X440 will come with alloy wheels equipped with single hydraulic disc brakes front and rear. Suspension is done with telescopic forks at the front, potentially non-adjustable, and twin shock absorbers at the rear.
LED lighting is used throughout while the control panel is a TFT-LCD screen. For the rest, we’ll have to wait for the official launch date on July 3, but from what we know, what do you think of the HD’s “small” bike? Will it appeal to the young crowd that HD needs to expand its customer base?
