After years of relentlessly questioning when she’ll release her ninth studio album, the pop superstar answered all the nasty chatter in an Apple Music trailer for her performance. her upcoming performance at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Released on January 13, the 30-second clip shows Rihanna slowly walking down a lighted runway while audio clips of people lament the long wait for new music to play in the background. “Dude, Rihanna, we’re waiting for you,” one voice said, while another whispered, “RiRi, where have you been?!”
As the chorus of voices begins to overlap, the room suddenly darkens and Rihanna is seen standing under the spotlight. Dressed in a black cat skin suit and large yellow fur coat, the 34-year-old brought a finger to her lips to mute the sound as her 2016 track “Needed Me” began.
Is this Rihanna’s way of telling fans that the wait is over?
