Prosecutors want Bill Cosby back in prison
Prosecutors are asking the US Supreme Court to reinstate Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction.
They said the decision by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in June to overturn Cosby’s conviction set “a dangerous precedent.”
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele called the court’s decision “an impossible rule,” according to AP News.
“This decision will have far-reaching negative consequences beyond Montgomery County and Pennsylvania,” he wrote. “The Supreme Court of the United States may address what we believe to be grave errors,” he wrote, requesting a view. decision review.
REGGAE ARTIST IS RAPE
Cosby spokesman Andrew Wyatt released a statement about the request.
According to Variety, Wyatt said: “The DA’s request has no merit to a request that focuses on the unique facts of the Cosby case and does not affect important federal questions of the law. “This is a pathetic last-ditch effort that will fail. The Montgomery County DA’s attachment to Mr. Cosby is making it difficult to say the least.”
Cosby has always maintained his innocence.
