WATCH: John Daly throws the first pitch in the St. Louis Cardinals
John Daly is one of the most negative figures in the golf world and has always had a passion for dramatic matches. On Wednesday, Daly had a chance to touch the diamond as he threw out the first pitch before the St. Louis hosts the Washington Nationals.
The 56-year-old certainly wasn’t taken aback by the bright light as he unleashed a strike into the back of the net.
It’s no surprise that Daly hit the mound at Busch Stadium with his classic combination of shorts, sunglasses, and flip flops.
Daly’s throw is one of the better first throws we’ve seen from celebrities in recent years. The likes of Dr Anthony Fauci, 50 Cent and Carly Rae Jepsen have produced some of the more brutal first throws that have never been done anywhere near the strike zone.
It’s been a very strong year for Daly, who nearly overcame the PGA Championship earlier this year with a more than 2 par in the opening round. During his professional career, Daly won two major titles, winning the PGA Championship in 1991 and the Open Championship in 1995.
Daly has certainly done this first pitch justice and honestly, it’s one of the best matches that has been delivered throughout recent history.
