Accepting the lifestyle of using electric cars requires a change in thinking, especially on the issue of battery charging. One of the ventures offering Tesla Model 3s for registration is Autonomy, a California company that is rebranding NextCar, originally intended to assist businesses with vehicle registration. Instead, Autonomy will focus on delivering Model 3, by the month, with no long-term commitments.

Autonomy, a name notable for emphasizing Tesla and Tesla’s long overdue robotic vision and autonomous driving—There is a plan to offer a Tesla Model 3 monthly, though a minimum of three months. On its website, the company claims to be “the cheapest, fastest, easiest way to get a Tesla Model 3” – compare prices with Turo, allowing owners to rent out their car and with Hertz, which is leasing the Model 3 and plans to add 100,000 Model 3s to its fleet.

This plan sounds like a flexible lease in that it requires a larger up-front payment — a $5,500 starting fee with as low as $550 per month or a $1,000 start fee. dollars for just $1,000 per month, with a $500 deposit also required. So far Autonomy has only offered Model 3 registrations in California; The company has purchased vehicles in recent months for the service and has ordered 500 units with the aim of receiving 10,000 by the end of 2022.
Autonomy isn’t the only company planning to ramp up its electric vehicle subscription service offering. Free2Move, the flexible mobility effort from Stellantis offers Cars on Demand, specifically aimed at people who want a car by the month without a long-term rental commitment.
Free2Move is offering the Model 3, in Standard Range Plus form, from $1,049 a month, with a one-time start fee of $399. The flat monthly fee includes insurance, maintenance, roadside assistance, and vehicle delivery.

By comparison, Autonomy covers maintenance and roadside assistance but requires proof of insurance, which is separate and up to the subscriber.
