Week 13 Fantasy Football FAAB Advice: Quit QB Receiver, Streamer

Taysom Hill (NO). The Saints are gearing up for Hill to start against Dallas this week. Obviously, Hill’s presence is a hit for most of the others in this offense, but he alone has a lot of value. Vulture’s tendency to run and touch the ball in the red zone gives him a big boost. Would it really be surprising if he ends up as the top 12th defender this week, as he usually did last year at the start? Expected FAAB bid: 8% of total FAAB . budget

Tua Tagovailoa (MIA). Another waiver transfer confirmation for Tua this week. Honestly, it’s a showdown between him and Mac Jones again, but Tua has a much easier game at home against the Giants while the Patriots visit the Bills. Tassel has provided a suitable tier for the fantasy genre, and we’ve also seen a few naked games. Between running and defending, the Dolphins haven’t been challenged recently when it comes to putting the game in Tua’s hands. Alexander Mattison (MIN). While the bid suggested here is as low as 60-80 percent, actually spending the rest of your FAAB may be the way to go. Dalvin Cook (as) will miss at least two games, possibly more, and we know what Mattison is capable of when given the full load. He’s probably the closest thing you’ll find to a tournament champion if he’s available to you. Sell the farm to get him. Expected FAAB bid: 60-80% of total FAAB budget

Dontrell Hilliard and D’onta Foreman (TEN). Both recorded a 100-meter dash against a lauded Patriots defense last week. Foreman lands more, but it seems like Hilliard is the one who should own the PPR formats. After saying goodbye this week, these two have a nice game against the Jaguars, who have just let Cordarrelle Patterson run them all. Proj. FAAB Bid: 20-25% each

Boston Scott (PHI). Difficult as it is admittedly, Scott could be Philadelphia’s backyard player. He got a very good amount of work on Sunday in a game where the Eagles offense looked out of place. Miles Sanders was clearly dealing with an injury in the second half that limited him, and Jalen Hurts also appeared to be defeated. Scott is emerging as a good entry-level RB2 option this week, but we can’t count on long-term appeal as much as we could with some other options. Despite that, Scott had 17 touchdowns last week and found the finish line. He could very well score again this week against the Jets. Proj. FAAB Bid: 12-20%

Chuba Hubbard (XE). It’s hard to be overly optimistic about Hubbard, which sounds odd since Christian McCaffrey (ankle) has completed the season. That would lead to a heavier FAAB recommendation for Hubbard, wouldn’t it? Well, not really. The Panthers aren’t playing next week, so if you’re spending money on him you won’t be able to use him until Week 14. Also, the fantasy playoff schedule for Carolina is brutal. In Weeks 15-18, the Panthers were tasked with taking on the Bills, Buccaneers, Saints, and Bucs again. Cam Newton is also there to touch vultures. But even then he could be the game-timer, so we won’t know until Sunday morning. If he’s out, Williams will be heavily involved against the Vikings. Proj. FAAB Bid: 10-12%

Matt Breida (BUF). Run deep this week because of the exemption. Breida could be overlooked based on injury news coming from Sunday’s action and the fact that he played last Thursday. But Breida now has three touchdowns in the past three games. Although he didn’t run well last Thursday, keep in mind he is playing against the Saints’ top defense. Zack Moss is still inactive, and Sean McDermott even went on the radio last week and admitted Breida deserves the extra load. The downside is that the fixture schedule doesn’t get any easier over the next few weeks against the Patriots and Bucs, but Breida still has the potential to come upstream because of the Bills’ offense. Proj. FAAB Bid: ten%

Jaret Patterson (WFT). We’ll need to see what the diagnosis is for JD McKissic, but it didn’t look right on Monday night. McKissic had to leave the field after scoring twice against Seattle. It’s hard to know what amount of work Patterson can handle after Antonio Gibson, but he’s almost bound to add in deeper formats, especially when you factor in the injuries Gibson has been through. Proj. FAAB Bid: 4-5%

However, there was a small COVID outbreak on the team and they have to play on Thursday, so he looks like a potential versatile play. He led the team in goals last week and made more than 100 yards received. You’ll definitely need to pay attention to the practice reports and outage before Thursday’s game before knowing if you should play him. Proj. FAAB Bid: 4%

Laviska Shenault Jr. (JAC). We didn’t quite see the “Deebo Samuel” role as we thought, but Shenault did see nine targets. What much did he do with them? Hard. He finished with five catches for 33 yards, which was a bit disappointing. But he has 22 goals in his past three games and the schedule from Weeks 14-16 isn’t too bad. Cole Kmet (CHI). It’s good to see all the signs finally paying off for Kmet this year. While the Bears continued to struggle offensively, Kmet’s usage and routes were slowly moving in the right direction. This week the Cardinals will be saying goodbye to their week, but you can roll the dice for Kmet based on the relationship he’s developed recently with whoever is playing midfield. Foster Moreau (LV). Darren Waller’s (knee) injury is not considered serious for the rest of the season, but he will likely miss the game against Washington this week. If that’s the case, Moreau is well worth streaming. When Waller missed time earlier this season, Moreau caught all six of his goals and found the end zone. A tight finish could offer good statistical lines against Washington, as Gerald Everett has caught five passes and one encounter on Monday night against it. It’s time to enhance this tight finish on your list. Proj. FAAB Bid: 5-6%

Gerald Everett (CA). We can assume Russell Wilson fixed things and ended the season on a strong note, but this offense in general looks lousy. However, Everett has benefited from that. In the team’s past three games since the bye week, Everett has had 21 goals and double-digit fantasy points in two competitions. Some tough games are coming, but there are still games against Houston, Chicago and Detroit that look great. Proj. FAAB Bid: 2%
