Here is why Pete Arredondo & Adrian Gonzales indicted
According to the source, earlier this year, the Department of Justice released a 600-page report related to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School that occurred on May 24, 2022. The report concluded that “ poor coordination, training and implementation” of active shooter protocols. among Uvalde school officers led to their failed response.
Additionally, the report asserts that instead of “engaging” the active shooter, officers “retreated” after his first gunshots. The officers allegedly failed to “move forward… and consistently eliminate the threat.”
NBC News noted that the gunman, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, “was locked in a classroom with 33 students and three teachers” at the time.
Ultimately, the report asserts, it took the officers at least 70 minutes to confront and kill Ramos. Furthermore, the officers’ “failed” response left 19 children and two teachers dead.
Additionally, seventeen other people were reported injured.
According to NBC News, Arredondo was fired by the Uvalde school board in 2023.
