Using a Nikon Z30 for Landscape Photography

Everyone likes to talk about gear, moving to a full frame camera, getting the newest camera, more megapixels, and so on. It is easy to think that you can’t take good pictures without the right gear. In this video, we see someone move from using their Nikon Z7 to using their Nikon Z30 more often.

Professional landscape photographer, Henry Turner, talks about his recent use of the Nikon Z30 over his Nikon Z7, as seen in several of his past videos, as he prepares for some upcoming adventures. In today’s age of always talking about the latest and greatest gear, it might seem unusual to see a photographer with ready access to a full-frame camera instead choose the crop sensor Nikon Z30.

Turner discusses why he is seeking a lighter and less bulky camera than his Nikon Z7. He also talks about some of the advantages the Z30 has, both due to it being a crop sensor and being newer and having some features the Z7 lacks. Turner also notes the one thing he thinks the Z30 is missing.

I found it refreshing to see Turner emphasizing the ability to tell a story and composition over the latest and greatest camera hardware.
