If I had to give one general piece of advice to a novice landscape photographer, it would simply be to exercise patience and not get discouraged. Landscape photography is a genre that often requires significant logistical commitments: getting up very early, walking many miles, waiting for the right light, etc. And despite all that, there are no guarantees conditions will cooperate and you will go home with the photos you want.
