The US set a grim milestone last month after recording the most serial killer within six months of 2006, the figures show.

Meanwhile, the AP quoted several criminologists as explaining the increase in mass murders. Experts say the increase in weapons and the population spike is the new record.

Even so, mass murders are still statistically rare, AP reported.

However, not everyone is in favor of reforming gun control laws. The National Rifle Association has consistently advocated for expanded gun rights, including the right to purchase assault rifles.

McLaughlin continued: “Rest assured, we will never bow, we will never back down. And we will never apologize for defending the right of law-abiding Americans to defend themselves.”
