With the major golf championship returning to The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, for the first time since 1988, the US Open is off to a head start. The first 36 holes saw a numbero star soar up the leaderboard with Collin Morikawa among the co-leaders as Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler remained in pursuit.
McIlroy is looking to win consecutive tournaments while claiming his first major championship since 2014 and the fifth of his career. He got off to a great start, firing a 67 to open the level and following it with a awesome 69 in which he recovers get past nine behind by getting through his last seven holes with no magic. Rahm was also a hit behind Morikawa entering Round 3.
Scottie Scheffler number 1 in the world too get yourself into controversy after a superb attempt to go nine behind in Round 2. On the other end of the coin is Phil Mickelson, who was knocked out on Thursday and is among the notable golfers. miss the US Open cut.
