UNRWA seeks $1.2 billion to meet urgent needs in Gaza and the West Bank
The expense will include humanitarian responses until the end of the year, with the goal of meeting the most urgent needs of 1.7 million people in war-torn Gaza and more than 200,000 Palestinian refugees in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

“War scars are seen on a large scale in Gaza. Meanwhile, violence is increasing in the West Bank,” Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini said.
“It’s important to be supportive UNRWA in providing humanitarian assistance and development services in health and education. The past months have shown that there is no alternative or alternative to UNRWA.”
As the largest humanitarian organization on the ground in Gaza, UNRWA is the backbone of aid operations in the region, managing shelters for more than a million people, distributing food, providing care primary health and logistical coordination for aid delivery.
Two hundred days into the war, the priority now is to get much-needed supplies, including food, into Gaza, where people are almost entirely dependent on alms and relief assistance.

Meanwhile, UNRWA has condemned the continued “bombardment and attacks” of the organization’s facilities in Gaza.

In another social media post, the agency reported that it had carried out a mission with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) arrived in northern Gaza on Tuesday to deliver medical aid and water filtration to people in Jabalia.
