United Airlines and its pilots’ union are back at the negotiating table for a new contract, a setback for the carrier after first to reach a tentative agreement since the pandemic began.

Delays can cause turmoil at other airlines and their pilots union, which often compare contracts from other carriers. American Airlines, Delta Airlines and Southwest Airlines is one of several US carriers currently negotiating contracts with pilot unions.
The vote could be delayed for up to three months to resume negotiations and the union would poll members on how to improve the deal, it said.
United did not immediately comment.
